Cusco City is well-known because of its culture, art and monumental diversity, enough reasons to be declared as Archaeological Capital of America and Humanity Cultural Heritage by Unesco.

Going back to history after Spanish Conquest, the Peruvian Viceroyalty, whose head was The Viceroy – “El Virrey” – was created. The Viceroy was a representative of the King who had authority to make justice, manage the exchequer and evangelize natives.

During the period of 1542-1821 Peru had 40 Viceroys. Once the Viceroyalty of Peru was established, gold and silver from the Andes enriched the conquerors, and Peru became the principal source of Spanish wealth and power in South America
